On March 11-12, TEMS (Trusted European Media Data Space) participated in the Data Spaces Symposium 2025 in Warsaw, joining over 800 experts from 40 countries to discuss the latest advancements in data spaces. The event featured policymakers, industry leaders, and technical experts, reflecting the global interest in data-sharing initiatives.
TEMS was actively showcased through presentations and demonstrations. Oscar Lazaro (INNO) took part in a panel on cultural heritage, media, and language data spaces, stressing the importance of sustainable business models that encourage open-source solutions. His insights aligned with TEMS’ approach to fostering innovation in media data sharing.
Luiza Brandao (ACA) highlighted TEMS’ use of the DSSC Blueprint, which serves as a framework for structuring data spaces: “The Blueprint can be described as an open door to the possibilities of the data space. We used it to understand the elements that need to be included in TEMS, as a mapping tool.” She emphasized that the latest Blueprint update now includes descriptions of data processing services, a key requirement for TEMS.
Alex Bourlier (SIB) presented the TEMS Data Space Browser, an intuitive tool designed to help users navigate and leverage media data. “TEMS has been praised for its clear focus on the end user’s experience, for instance, a journalist or a movie producer. At least four different initiatives are willing to reproduce what has been achieved.” This recognition reinforces TEMS’ commitment to delivering practical, user-centric solutions.
During networking sessions, Sylvain Le Bon (SIB) demonstrated the latest TEMS mockups, receiving strong interest from attendees. “We presented the current mockups of the TEMS data space, and we had very good feedback. People are excited to see data spaces becoming very concrete and answering real problems throughout Europe.” The demonstrations illustrated how TEMS facilitates secure and efficient media data exchange.
Finally, Véronique Demilly (FTV) delivered a keynote titled “Data Space Revolution: Unleashing Media’s Potential, Navigating Challenges, and Shaping the Future.” Her speech highlighted the expectations of media stakeholders regarding a media data space: it should be easy to use, sustainable, and future-proof.
With strong engagement and recognition from key stakeholders, TEMS continues to refine its solutions, leveraging feedback from various parties to further enhance its approach to media data sharing.
